Chrysanthou’s Defamation Win for Edwards Over Famous Cavoodle

On 26 April 2024, judgment was entered in the Federal Court of Australia for Gina Edwards in defamation proceedings against Nine Network Australia Pty Limited and others over broadcasts and articles portraying her as stealing a famous dog for financial gain.

The Federal Court awarded Edwards $150,000 in damages over the broadcasts and articles.

Sue Chrysanthou SC, Nicholas Olsen and Tim Smartt appeared for Edwards throughout the proceedings.
